Privacy policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit lottohelper.ca ("the site", "we", "us"), which is operated by NextGen from British Columbia, Canada. The short version: we do not ask you for personal information, but our hosting provider keeps standard server logs and our advertising partner, Google, uses cookies to show and measure ads.
Information we collect directly
The site has no accounts, sign-up forms, comments or newsletter. We do not ask for your name or payment details, and we never receive your lotto numbers. The number checker runs entirely in your browser; if you tick "Save this line", your numbers are kept in your browser's local storage (key lh_lines) so the home page can compare them with the latest draw. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and you can remove them with the checker's Clear button or by clearing this site's data in your browser. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We use that only to reply and to fix any problem you report, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like almost every web host, Vercel automatically processes technical information when a page is requested — such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request — to deliver pages, keep the service secure and diagnose errors. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors and we do not sell them.
Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Our AdSense publisher ID is ca-pub-5048509015899303.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you opt out of personalised ads, you may still see ads, but they will be based on general factors such as the page you are reading rather than your browsing history. Cookies, including Google's, can also be blocked or deleted in your browser settings; the site works normally without them.
Analytics
We do not currently run a separate analytics service (such as Google Analytics) on this site. If we add one, it will be named here before it is switched on, together with how to opt out.
Children
The site is intended for adults of legal lottery age in their province (19 in most of Canada; 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority.
Links to other sites
We link to lottery corporations, government agencies and support services so you can verify information. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.
Your choices and rights
Because we do not hold accounts or profiles, there is usually nothing on our side to access or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it. Canadian privacy law (including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act) gives you rights over personal information held by organisations; questions about Google's processing can be directed to Google through the links above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
