How the number checker works
The checker compares your line with the winning numbers of every draw in our archive: 4,457 Lotto 6/49 draws since June 12, 1982 and 1,277 Lotto Max draws since September 25, 2009. It runs entirely in your browser. When you press the button it downloads our compact results file for that game (the same data shown on the results pages) and counts how many of your numbers match the main numbers of each draw, then whether the bonus number is also on your line.
Results are grouped by prize tier using the names on the current prize tables — for Lotto Max, 7 of 7 down to 3 of 7, with the "+ bonus" tiers; for Lotto 6/49, 6 of 6 down to 2 of 6 + bonus. We deliberately do not show dollar amounts. Most tiers are a share of a prize pool, so what a 5 of 6 paid in 1995 is not what it pays today, and older draws used different prize structures. Treat the tier counts as a fun "what if" rather than a ledger.
Why Lotto Max has a format choice
Lotto Max numbers were drawn from 1 to 49 until May 2019, from 1 to 50 until April 10, 2026, and from 1 to 52 since April 14, 2026. A line with 51 or 52 could never have matched those numbers before 2026, and the chance of each match changes with the range. "Current format only" searches the 52 draws in the 1–52 format; "All draws" searches all 1,277.
What the results mean
If your line has matched 4 numbers a few times since 2009, that is about what chance alone produces: the odds of 4 of 7 on one line are roughly 1 in 72 per draw in today's format. A line that has never matched 5 is not "due"; every draw is a fresh draw.
